Challenges

China is a land of opportunity. But culture clash with foreigners often frustrates communication, cooperation, continuity, and trust. Only half the foreign companies in China make a profit, according to the China Market Research Group. Some multinationals fail in the Chinese market. Others, though successful, find work relations with their Chinese counterparts difficult.

“The most frustrating aspect of work with the Chinese,” runs a common complaint, “is no early warning when things go wrong.” Because of the Chinese language barrier, indirect communication style, and “don’t make trouble when there is no trouble” mentality, Chinese colleagues often give subtle cues that foreign managers miss. Once a problem is noticed, it is often too serious to repair.

Methods and language

CCC provides both traditional face-to-face training and long-distance e-training that is concrete and practical, ranging from elementary to advanced—depending on what prior knowledge our clients have.

Our training uses case studies, role-playing, and other interactive exercises—not just theory. Case studies are of real-life situations. Role-playing is with the Chinese trainer or Chinese guests.

We also offer the Intercultural Readiness Check, a leading online assessment tool, and give individual feedback on request. Feedback can be followed by personal coaching as required.

The training language is English or Chinese.

Duration, Location, and Price

A normal training session is 1 to 2 days, but we can tailor it to fit the client’s needs.

The face-to-face training location is in China or in Europe. For other parts of the world, telephone or online training is recommended.

Price depends on duration, location, and other specifics.
